Presentation – What makes a makes a meeting great!
Facilitated by Melissa McGavick
Melissa presented handouts on Alternative Chapter Leadership format detailing the various chapter positions and what their responsibilities are. Additionally, appointed/volunteer positions were defined. Etiquette and tips for how to run the meeting, along with keeping the meeting on track and timely were discussed. Melissa displayed laminated cards, which can be used to keep speakers within their allotted time limit. (Keep going, Wrap it up, And Stop).
Discussed what other chapters do to facilitate their meetings. The Robinson Chapter developed their own Mission Statement, which was read by Linda Cahill, Pgh. West Chapter. Pgh. West has adopted the statement for their own chapter. It was suggested that it could be called a “Vision Statement” rather than a Mission Statement.
Do to the growing numbers of chapters; Donna Cheswick will only be doing PR for ailing chapters.
Next month’s presentation: Susan Lieber, MS, OTR/L, CPO Certified Professional Organizer and member of the Allegheny Valley Chapter owner of “Leave it to Lieber.”
Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April14 10, 2009 in Monroeville at 6:00 p.m. Restaurant to be determined.
